Considering the lack of puzzle caches around the M/O area, I have decided to do one up.  I got the idea from a cache I read about in the DFW area and hope it works.  Bascially I am going to release 7 different TB's that have info on them that will be needed to get the final coordinates.  I am going to put something on the bug to try and make sure it stays around Midland/Odessa area, and doesn't wander off, but does move from cache to cache around the area.

Thoughts or comments?  I know it's probably not going to be found that often, so what would be a good way to get people to find it, aside from the "thrill of the hunt"?

My thoughts or comments:  It's an interesting idea, but it would probably go onto my ignore list pretty quickly.  I almost hate to say that, since I don't want to throw cold water on anyone's idea, but I'm just being honest.  I will admit I am not big on puzzle caches to begin with, but that sounds like it would rely on pure luck to find, and it would require looking in lots of caches I've already found.  Since I am not big on puzzle caches anyway, I at least would want one that is partially under my control to find.  My guess is that most people will not go back through lots of caches they've already found in an area hoping to find the right travel bugs to solve a cache.  Or did I misunderstand something.

Do you know how you would get the travel bugs to stay in the area?  I don't think their mission statement would do it, because I think most people pick them up and have them at home before they ever know the bug's mission.  If they happen to live in another area, the bug has already moved on, and they might not be coming back.  Maybe a special tag on the bug?

Posts like this with any negative at all can sound harsh, and I don't mean to.  If your idea is still in the planning stages, I'm sure several of us would enjoy helping you brainstorm.

If it's not about the numbers, what is it about?
