Hey ya,,,,

We are planning a trip to the area this weekend.... and will be going after several caches (mainly "The Big One" GC1N54Y) that require off road driving....  Do ya recommend any other caches in the area?  We will be in a jeep cherokke.... 4x4  stock height with about a 1" lift gain by adding bigger tires,,,, so no major rock climbing.... but still have good ground clearance.....

If not this weekend, maybe next weekend after things have a chance to dry up from the rain storms in the area this week,,,,

Oh.... also? What type of special equipment will we need to get "The Big One"... its a long drive up from San Antonio, so we want to make sure we bring what we need! Thanks for the info....

Anthony,

Not too familiar with the SA scene, but if you like Dan Brown, you might check out the Abscacher Code (GCJV3M).  It's a 5/5, and I've heard good things about it.  The final's supposed to be killer.

As far as The Big One, I suppose I might be the one you want to talk to.  I just checked, and it turns out I'm still the only finder.  Very good cache, with a nice pucker factor.  More than one way to get it, but I'd suggest a climbing harness & a belay (not how I did it).  Check my log; your vehicle should be fine to get to it, even if things are a little sloppy.

We have decided to put off the trip till next weekend or the weekend after. We need more time to look at maps and gather equipment.... Wink

We still want your suggestions on other off road caches that require a 4X4 vehicle.

Thanks,

Any caches around the Twin Buttes area can be good for off road.

I can second that recommendation.  We had a blast back there.

We will be in the area this weekend.... how is the weather looking? and will the off road caches be accessible after all the rain?  We will be camping at San Angelo State Park on Saturday night.
