The Unnamed Event
September 15 – 16, 2012 @ Lake Somerville Marina Campground
The Texas Geocaching Association is starting up a brand new annual event for the fall, The Unnamed Event is it’s current name. Why is it named that? Because it has yet to be named! TXGA is having a contest to pick this new annual events name, read more about it here: The Unnamed Event Contest and it’s Cache listing is here: The UNNAMED EVENT.
I plan to be there and I hope to see more from West Texas as well. There is plenty to do in the area including some very good geocaches, and lets not forget Blue Bell ice cream tours!
The schedule of events is up, if you intend to sign up for the Chili Cookoff or the Bakeoff, be sure to register before September 12th!

Attributes in Cache Listings
| When your looking for caches to find, do you care about the details on the cache listing? Would you rather a string of park and grabs or a well thought out listing with alot of information and looks fancy? Some do, some don’t, it’s up to you how you want to cache. However, did you know that there are alot of geocachers out there that only find caches with attribute settings a certain way? When your listing a cache page you have the option of setting attributes to help cachers identify if a cache has a certain ability or know if something is needed. Truckers look for “Truck Driver/RV” caches where they know they can pull over their big rigs, same for cachers in RVs of course. From time to time you may be out on a caching trip and want one with “Public Restrooms Nearby” checked. I tend to look for “Recommended for Kids” went out of town so I know where to take the boys.
