Hello all,

This past Wednesday I was contacted by Keep Midland Beautiful about a project they are working on for the Holiday season. Loop 250 in Midland gets pretty trashy on a regular day, but with Christmas upon us, things get worse out there. Between apartment complexes, drivers on the loop, shoppers at the stores and of course the restaurants trash builds up quickly.

This year Keep Midland Beautiful is having a “Save the Loop” project and asking groups to come out and help clean up the mess. Wednesday we were called to see if we would like to help. (Alot of the people over there refer to us as their favorite group)

The plan is to meet the Saturday before Christmas (had to be two weeks out in order to list the event on geocaching.com) December 22, 2012 at 8 AM in the parking lot at the bowling alley at the loop and Holiday Hill Road. I asked the gentlemen with Keep Midland Beautiful where was needed to be cleaned the most and this is is. We will clean the north service road for the loop from there east to Midland Drive. Here we have apartment area, Chick-Fil-A and other restaurants, and Walmart building up the trash. I will bring supplies all you need to bring is your body, and any special trash picking up stuff you carry.

The Midland Police Department will be patrolling areas cleaned by groups more heavily than normal for our safety from the crazy drivers out there. If we want we can do an additional CITO on a different part of the loop the following Saturday.

The more the better, please post your Will Attend as soon as you can so I have a number and know what supplies to bring.
