There are multiple areas in West Texas where geocachers have adopted sections to clean on highways, lots, and streets.
In Midland the Permian Basin Cachers Association has adopted a two mile stretch of Highway 349. It starts two miles north of Loop 250. This group has received awards from Keep Midland Beautiful and The Texas Department of Transportation for their work on this area. The same group has an Adopt a Spot in a vacant lot on Andrews Hwy and Midland Drive next to the Taco Villa there.
In Abilene the cachers there have adopted a stretch of road in town on 27th St. between the Centennial Park and Oldham Rd.
CITO events are held regularly in these areas and everyone is welcome to come clean!
